Alycia Powers Bio
Alycia Powers is an award-winning journalist who has covered the news for television and online media, both in front of and behind the cameras. She is currently a journalist for CBS' national syndicated news magazine, "Inside Edition". Here she covers a wide range of stories across the United States to an audience of over six million viewers daily. In addition to her role at IE, Alycia is the host of the popular series, “What’s Up New York”.
Her current role includes reporting and producing on breaking news, to in-depth investigative stories. She has continuously secured exclusive interviews with some of the most important news figures of today. Ranging from A-List celebrities, athletes, politicians, pop-culture stars, or hometown heroes, Alycia can find the news story to report with every interview. From criminals in jail to victims of senseless crimes to some of the most outstanding figures influencing the nation, Alycia has an effortless talent to develop an ease and comfort with her subjects allowing her to create some of the most candid and honest interviews produced.
In 2018, Alycia flew into the heart of both historical hurricanes; Hurricane Florence in Wilmington, NC; and Hurricane Michael in Mexico Beach, FL. While in the field she produced multiple stories each day, including hosting live streams for real time coverage. In a 2017 shocking report, she went undercover in the IE investigative story, "Indecent Proposal" where she posed as a woman looking for a job, answering several disturbing job listings. The report ousted several local businessmen for their inappropriate, sexually harassing, and demeaning, behaviors. During the 2016 Presidential Election, she was one of the lead producers for Inside Edition's coverage of both the RNC and DNC where she scheduled and conducted interviews with key political figures.

Alycia has been on the front lines since the Coronavirus pandemic hit America, rushing to the scene of Covid-19's 'Patient Zero' in New Rochelle, New York. Alycia has worked continuously throughout the pandemic bringing forth vital information.
